Moving Out of State With Space Bag

Space Savers community member Linda from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., recently helped her son relocate to another state. Here she tells us how Space Bag helped fit his clothing into the car for his cross-country move:

Our son, a recent college graduate, decided to move from Michigan to North Carolina to find work. He would live with his sister and new brother-in-law, who had an extra bed, but no dresser for his clothes. We were able to fit an extra dresser into his Jeep but it had to be lying down with the drawers facing up. If we loaded the drawers and then tried to put them in the dresser once the frame was in the Jeep, the contents would fall out. To solve this, we loaded the dresser frame into his car, and then set an extra-large or large Space Bag in each drawer. We loaded the clothes into the Space Bag and vacuumed out the air. This way he had a nice package that would not spill the contents when we put the drawers in the dresser. We were able to empty his closet into two Space Bag High Capacity Cubes, vacuum them and fit all his clothes into his car for the trip south. We even put all his athletic shoes in a bag and shrunk it down to half the size. We were able to fit five drawers of clothes and a closet full of clothes into the dresser and a couple Cubes. When we arrived in North Carolina, we just opened the valve and put the clothes back in the drawers and closet. This was so successful! I plan to use it for our next move!
